The side channel pump is particularly for fuel feed in a motor vehicle, has a running wheel (6) rotating in the pump housing and in its face side a ring of blade chambers. Opposite to the ring in the housing a part ring-shaped channel extends from the inlet to the outlet. The outer limit of the part ring-shaped channel (11) has a greater diameter than the outer limit of the ring of blade chambers (10). The inner limit of the part ring-shaped channel has a larger diameter than the inner limit of the ring of blade chambers. The part ring-shaped channel and the blade chambers have the same width. The radius (R1) from the rotary axis of the running wheel to the part-ring-shaped channel exceeds the radius (R2) of the ring of blade chambers by 0.1-1.5 mm.
