PURPOSE: A method for notifying of a receiving mode in a mobile communication terminal is provided to inform an originator of a received call signal of a receiving mode conversion in the terminal through a message, thereby preventing the originator from attempting to continuously make a call since a terminal user does not respond to the call. CONSTITUTION: A transmission function of a receiving mode notifying message is set in a data communication mode(S1). If a terminal user wants to receive data, the terminal user selects a communication modem from a user interface menu(S2). The data communication mode is converted into a receiving mode, and the data is transceived between a computer and a mobile communication terminal(S3). A controller of the terminal decides whether a call signal is received by deciding whether the call signal is detected(S4). If so, the controller detects an originating number of the call signal(S5), and transmits a short message with the originating number(S6).
