<p>PURPOSE: A vapor vent valve assembly and a control method of a vapor vent are provided to re-open the valve securely and completely for feeding fuel by the little force with forming the inclined top in the cage and by sealing the vent valve seat with the flexible thin valve member. CONSTITUTION: A float assembly(26) used for a vehicle fuel tank has a valve membrane(56) formed of an elastic seal member caged for movement of lost motion on the top of a float(50). Upon refueling, the float raises and seals the membrane on a valve seat of a vent passage. In order that the float descends when the fuel is drawn from the tank and fed to an engine, a protruded part(64) extending downward from an upper part of a cage is brought into contact with the membrane, and the membrane as the valve is partially peeled away from the valve seat. The elastic seal member is contacted to the valve seat on the float assembly with moving up in increasing the fuel level. The elastic seal member is formed of thin film, and beads are expanded and formed around the elastic seal member.</p> |
