PURPOSE: A vacuum regenerating method of adsorption type air dryer is provided to reduce consumption of purge air by maintaining vacuum pressure lower than atmospheric pressure in regenerating tower to obtain the same regenerating effect using less purge air compared with conventional non-heating type reduced pressure regenerating. CONSTITUTION: In a non-heating type reduced pressure regenerating type dryer for regenerating adsorbent as alternately changing two adsorbent regenerating towers, the vacuum regenerating method of adsorption type air dryer is characterized in that adsorbent is regenerated by installing vacuum pump(20) at one side of the regenerating tower(10), thereby reducing pressure inside the regenerating tower to the vacuum state of 0.5 absolute atmospheric pressure that is lower than the atmospheric pressure, wherein about half of conventionally required purge air volume obtains the same effect as an effect obtained when regenerating adsorbent in the atmospheric pressure state to reduce energy consumption by reducing 50% of consumption volume of the purge air.
