METHOD FOR FAST CONVERTING CHANNEL OF SATELLITE SET TOP BOX

PURPOSE: A method for fast converting a channel of a satellite set top box is provided for a user to accurately select a channel by repeatedly executing a preprocess of synchronizing a center frequency of the corresponding channel and a following process of correcting the center frequency. CONSTITUTION: A symbol rate is set up and recorded in an FEC IC(Forward Error Correcting Integrated Circuit)(S31). A center frequency corresponding to the set symbol rate is corrected into a correction value preliminarily stored, and the corrected center frequency is recorded in a PLL IC(Phase Locked Loop Integrated Circuit) for selecting a channel(S32). It is judged whether the FEC IC is locked(S33). If not, a frequency is changed in a range preliminarily set(S34). If so, a difference between the previous center frequency and the frequency in the case that the FEC IC is locked is stored as a correction value of the center frequency(S35).
