PURPOSE: A method for controlling the fuel quantity of a diesel engine is provided to maintain the same engine performance at an initial state as the engine performance after engine break-in by applying the injection amount after the engine break-in even before the engine break-in. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling the fuel quantity of a diesel engine comprises the steps of deciding if a total mileage is within a pre-determined distance(S110,S120), calculating a fuel correction amount if the total mileage is within the pre-determined distance(S130), calculating a fuel injection amount and an injection time(S140), and outputting a fuel injection amount and injection time control signal(S150).
