IMAGE PICKUP UNIT AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE

PURPOSE: An image pickup unit and an electronic device are provided to rotate a case body of the image pickup unit to the position of a subject and to relieve load applied on a communication coupling part. CONSTITUTION: An image pickup unit(1) is composed of an image pickup board having an image pickup element; a case body for housing the image pickup board; a communication coupling part between combining posts and a retention wedge arranged out of the case body to transmit image information from the image pickup element and coupled with the image pickup board; a pivot support part pivotally supporting the case body, wherein the communication coupling part extended from the case body is arranged; and a slit part(20a) guiding the communication coupling part to the outside of the pivot support part and the slit part formed on a circumferential face of the pivot support part. The communication coupling part comprises an axial-direction extension part extended from the case body to the pivot support part in a rotary shaft of the case body; a curved part formed at the end of the axial-direction extension part to curve the communication coupling part in the pivot support part in a direction nearly perpendicular to the rotary shaft; and an extension part(44) extended outward the pivot support part through the slit part.
