PURPOSE: A keypad mounted an additive button and a method thereof are provided to mount an additive mode change button for changing a mode of keypad and an additive selection instruction button, thereby capable of inputting character etc. simply with a few frequency of button input. CONSTITUTION: A mode change button(20) changes an input mode of a character plate and is mounted to the left or right side of a portable mobile communication terminal. A first, second and third selection instruction buttons(17,18,19) instruct one character among plurality characters at any one button among a character input button(13) or a function button(12) and are also mounted to the left or right side of a portable mobile communication terminal. A control unit displays the selectively inputted data to a display window of the terminal and stores the displayed data.
