PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for measuring a moving distance of a person are provided to obtain movement information of the person by installing an inertia sensor at a part of the person, such as shoes or feet. CONSTITUTION: A moving distance measuring apparatus includes an inertia sensor installed at a part of a person for detecting a movement of the person. A moving signal detected by the inertia sensor is processed by a first microprocessor. A data transmission RF module is provided to transmit data processed in the first microprocessor to a data receiving RF module(301). A second microprocessor(302) measures a moving distance of the person by using data received in the data receiving RF module(301). The moving distance of the person is displayed on a liquid crystal display module(303).
