PURPOSE: The household water filter using biological slow sand filtration and fibrous activated carbon is provided to contribute to health of rural resident with low cost materials. CONSTITUTION: The household water filter comprises a preprocess which cultivates biofilm with an aeration and a gravel layer, a process which treats water through the slow sand filtration and comprises a fine sand layer, a coarse sand layer, and a gravel layer, and a process which treats water with fibrous activated carbon.
