PURPOSE: A shampoo composition containing a thickener of polyquaternium-10, a pearl-forming agent of monostearic acid ethylene glycol, a humectant of propylene glycol and a pH controller of citric acid, together with a shampoo base is provided. Therefore, the composition can control the acidity of the skin while providing good lather volume, hair gloss and conditioning. CONSTITUTION: A shampoo composition comprises: 0.2% by weight of polyquaternium-10 as a thickener, 1.00% by weight of monostearic acid ethylene glycol as a pearl-forming agent, 0.50% by weight of propylene glycol as a humectant and citric acid as a pH controller and 1.0% by weight of dimethicone emulsion as a brightening agent, together with a shampoo base containing 35.0% by weight of sodium lauryl ethyl sulfate of polyoxyethylene as a main surfactant and 6.0% by weight of cocamidopropyl betaine as an auxiliary surfactant.
