PURPOSE: A flexible fender of a ship is provided to make the contact position adjustable according to the ebb and flow of the tide, therefore to prevent collision between a ship and a pier. CONSTITUTION: The flexible fend of a ship is composed of: a main fender(20) placed at the face of a pier wall(10a) to protect a ship, provided with a fender seat(24) and a crude rubber promoting shock absorbing effect; an adjustable fender(60) placed inside the pit of a pier as a driving device, provided with a guide rail(62) matching with a guide groove(26) located at each side of the seating area of the main fender and moving up and down at the center of the main fender; a driving device(40) provided with a motor and wire moving the adjustable fender within the main fender by the wire connected to a running motor; a position adjuster(80) containing a guide pipe(84) with a floating object and a sensor box(88) and adjusting the position of the adjustable fender according to the height of seawater by the driving device; a sensor box(88) sensing the movement of the floating object variable against the height of the sea water and if necessary, running the motor to move the adjustable fender up and down.
