PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for driving a liquid crystal display are provided to maintain desired response time of liquid crystal at all time even if the temperature of an environment where the liquid crystal display is used is changed. CONSTITUTION: A modulation data value for each temperature is determined on the basis of different temperatures. The modulation data values are stored by temperatures in a plurality of look-up tables(S71). The temperature of a display panel is detected(S72). One of modulation data items output from the plurality of look-up tables is selected according to the detected temperature(S73). One of full-bit source data and upper-bit data of the source data is delayed. The delayed data and undelayed data are commonly inputted to the plurality of look-up tables.
