PURPOSE: A device for adjusting preload of a leaf spring type suspension is provided to promote adjustment of posture of a vehicle varied according to the unloaded weight and loaded weight of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A suspension includes an upper arm installed to the front end of a torsion bar spring(18) fixed to a side frame; a lower arm fixed to the side frame; and a leaf spring having a front mounting part fixed to a knuckle fixed to the upper and lower arms. In a device for adjusting preload of the leaf spring type suspension, one front end of the torsion bar spring is combined with an anchor arm(28) by a slip joint method. Adjustment of the setting angle of the anchor arm, on an anchor bracket(26) fixed to the side frame, is possible. The anchor bracket comprises a base plate(26a) and a cover plate(26b), and has a curvature part(26') for housing the anchor arm. Accordingly, preload given to the torsion bar spring is properly adjusted according to the loading state of the vehicle and the road surface state.
