PURPOSE: Provided are fermented milk which is useful for maintaining and improving liver function and a manufacturing method thereof. Lactic acid bacteria and amino acid contained in the fermented milk maintains liver function. CONSTITUTION: Fermented milk which is useful for maintaining and improving liver function is characteristically manufactured by using at least one kind of functional component selected from biomass or fermentation product thereof and amino acids. The biomass is selected from the group consisting of Zingiberaceae, Cassia occidentalis, Lycium chinense Mill, chlorophyll, chlorella, silkworm protein and the fermentation products thereof.
