VIRTUAL ACADEMIC CONFERENCE SYSTEM USING INTERNET PROTOCOL VERSION 6 MULTICAST

PURPOSE: A virtual academic conference system using an Internet protocol version 6 multicast is provided to allow a presenter, participants or related persons to participate in an international or national academic conference through online. CONSTITUTION: A presenter is provided with education-related equipments such as a microphone or a picture camera. Session presenters(104,105), session participants(107-112), and a session head are in an environment that they can connect from a remote area through a router and a network(106) supporting IPv6 multicast. A session control server(101) handles control and management of the participants by sessions and the right to speak of session provided in a virtual academic conference system. A Web DB server(102) handles user's academic conference registration and authentication of entry of sessions. A 3D server(103) handles providing an information disk allowing entire conference information to be read and registration and a scene of a conference hall prior to entry the conference hall by 3D interface. As for the session head, one head per session is previously elected to proceed with a conference of a corresponding session and be authorized to give or deprive the right of speak. An ID of the head is stored in advance in a DB by a manager, and when the corresponding ID is logged in, the head of a corresponding session is authorized from the session control server(101).
