PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is provided to prevent short-circuiting of signal lines of neighboring pixels, stably secure sustain capacitor and minimize the size of a substrate. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display includes a pixel array, gate lines(22), data lines(62), a passivation film, a pixel electrode(82), and a thin film transistor. The pixel array is arranged in such a manner that four red and green pixels surrounding a blue pixel face each other. The gate lines are arranged in the horizontal direction and transmit a scan signal or a gate signal to the pixels. The data lines are arranged in the vertical direction to intersect the gate lines and deliver a video or data signal. The passivation film is formed of an insulating material having a dielectric factor of lower than 4.0 and covers the gate lines and data lines. The pixel electrode is formed at each pixel and the edge of the pixel electrode is superposed on a gate line or data line having the passivation film between them. The thin film transistor is composed of a gate electrode(26) connected to a gate line, a source electrode(65) connected to a data line, and a drain electrode(66) connected to the pixel electrode.
