PURPOSE: A method for charging a battery of a mobile communication terminal is provided to reduce the time required for charging the battery by detecting and notifying whether or not a charging completion condition is achieved, the charging completion condition being set by a user. CONSTITUTION: A user sets a charging completion condition using an input unit of a terminal or a charger(S211). Then, the charging completion condition is stored on the terminal or the charger(S211). The terminal or the charger detects an initial charging current value(S212). A current threshold value is calculated according to the charging completion condition(S213). The terminal or the charger monitors an inflow current during a predetermined time interval(S214). Where the charging completion condition is achieved, a charging completion signal is outputted(S217).
