PURPOSE: Insulating materials for molten steel in ladle are provided to improve heat reserving capability of molten steel by adding pearlite that is natural glassy rock to existing exothermic insulating materials to increase insulation effect of molten steel. CONSTITUTION: In insulating materials into which existing exothermic insulating materials are blended as blended raw materials is added to the upper part of molten steel to prevent temperature deterioration of molten steel contained in ladle in steelmaking process, the insulating materials for molten steel in ladle are characterized in that blended raw materials of the molten steel insulating materials comprise SiO2, Fe2O3, low carbon, aluminum dross, and pearlite that is natural glassy rock containing 2 to 5 wt.% of water of crystallization, wherein 30 to 50 wt.% of SiO2, 3 to 10 wt.% of Fe2O3, 5 wt.% or less of low carbon, and a balance of aluminum dross and pearlite are contained in the blended raw materials, and a blending ratio of the aluminum dross to pearlite is 0.8 to 5.
