DEVICE FOR CUTTING OFF MOLTEN IRON IN SKIMMER OF BLAST FURNACE

PURPOSE: A device for cutting off molten iron in skimmer of blast furnace is provided to protect workers from scattering molten iron by remotely blocking flow of molten iron collected in main iron trough into molten iron runner after closing tap hole of the blast furnace. CONSTITUTION: In a device(100) for blocking flow of molten iron from main iron trough(60) to molten iron runner(70) through tap hole of blast furnace, the device comprises a hopper(10) constructed on the side surface of skimmer hood(25) positioned at the upper side of a boundary position of the main iron trough and molten iron runner to store molten iron blocking sand(15); a pneumatic cylinder(20) one end of which is rotationally fixed to the side surface of the hopper, and at the other end of which a hinge lockable fastener is installed; a damper arm(30) which is locked to the fastener of the pneumatic cylinder and positioned under the pneumatic cylinder, and one end of which is rotationally fixed to the hopper by hinge; and a damper(40) constructed at the other end of the damper arm to open and close discharge hole of the hopper.
