PURPOSE: A shock absorber is provided to decrease load and cut down manufacturing cost by modifying the structure of a synthetic resin outer shell, and to increase the productivity by simplifying the process. CONSTITUTION: An outer shell(20) is installed in the upper end of a piston rod(30) extended outward to protect an inner shell(14). The lower part of the cylindrical outer shell is opened, and an insertion port(22) is formed in the upper center to insert the piston rod. Plural reinforcing plates(24) are arranged concentrically to protect an oil seal(16) moving up and down. The piston rod is inserted to the insertion port of the outer shell, and the inner shell is arranged in the outer shell to protect the inner shell against impact and prevent inflow of foreign matters into the piston rod. Load and cost are reduced by making the outer shell of synthetic resin, and breakage of the oil seal is prevented by reinforcing plates.
