PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for manufacturing a metal carrier core are provided to expand the life span of a roll by preventing an eccentric abrasion of a driving roller and a pressing roller. CONSTITUTION: A planar strip wound around a first spool is supplied into one side of a winding section while controlling a feeding speed of the planar strip according to a tension generated in the planar strip(S1). Then, a planar strip wound around a second spool is formed into a corrugation strip through a corrugation forming section(S4). Then, the corrugation strip is supplied into the other side of the winding section while controlling a feeding speed of the corrugation strip according to a tension generated in the corrugation strip(S5). The planar strip and the corrugation strip supplied into the winding section are welded, thereby forming a honeycomb type core(S6).
