PURPOSE: An engine starter of a vehicle is provided to prevent the overload of a starter motor and the discharge of a battery by controlling the electricity application between the battery and the starter motor based on an optimal electricity application time. CONSTITUTION: A temperature sensing unit(10) detects the temperature in an engine room. A voltage sensing unit(12) detects the voltage of a battery. An engine control unit(14) controls the application time of the proper starting currents applied to a starter motor when an engine is started via the temperature sensing unit and the voltage sensing unit. A power supply unit(16) supplies the operating currents of the battery to the starter motor under the control of the engine control unit. A starting unit(18) drives the starter motor by receiving the operating currents applied by the power supply unit.
