PURPOSE: A method for transmitting photo mail by editing a photo is provided to supply a special function of editing a picture or a photo to be transmitted as photo mail to a user, thereby enabling the user to make various types of pictures. CONSTITUTION: When a user selects an adornment function menu on a portable phone(S400), a photo selection screen is displayed. The user selects a name of a desirous picture to be adorned(S410). The user selects a desirous function of adornment functions, and edits the selected picture(S420). The user writes an additional message, completes photo mail by inputting E-mail or a telephone number of a receiver, and executes a send command to transmit the photo mail to the other party(S430). If the user selects a save function, data of the photo mail is stored in a memory of the portable phone(S440).
