PURPOSE: A shock absorbing steering damper for a steering shaft of a vehicle is provided to transmit rotation to the tire accurately without clearance by relieving impact from the road surface with installing the steering damper smaller than the rubber in the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A shock absorbing steering damper comprises a housing(10) fixed in an input shaft(40) and composed of spline protrusions in the inner periphery; an output shaft(20) reciprocating inside or outside the housing; and a piston(30) fixed in the end of the output shaft and reciprocated in the housing, and composed of a spline(30a) engaged with the spline protrusion to transmit rotation to the output shaft. A hole is formed in the piston to adjust buffering. Rotation is transmitted to the tire accurately without clearance in steering by relieving impact from the road surface.
