PURPOSE: A speed change operating mechanism of an automatic transmission having a vibration insulating function is provided to efficiently intercept vibration and noise delivered from the transmission to a gearshift through a shift cable by cutting off a vibration transmitting path by forming a constant clearance on a connected part between the gearshift and the shift cable. CONSTITUTION: A speed change operating mechanism of an automatic transmission having a vibration insulating function is composed of a gearshift(10) of which a lower end is installed inside a case(12) to rotate with centering on a pivot spot(P), a shift cable(14) connected between the gearshift and a control lever of the transmission, a detent plate(16) and a detent spring(18) applying a moderation effect to the case in changing speed, and a fixing mechanism(20) installed inside the case to fix an insulator(14a) combined to a front end of the shift cable when the gearshift locates in a D range.
