PURPOSE: A tensile force measuring apparatus for a cable is provided to prevent cable accidents by constantly checking tensile force of the cable using the tensile force measuring apparatus. CONSTITUTION: A load cell(20) has a cable inlet hole(20a). The load cell(20) is installed at the rear side of a fixing support section(5), to which a cable(10) is fixed. A deformation measuring device(1) is connected to the load cell(20) and receives electrical signals from the load cell when deformation occurs. A chucking device is installed at one side of the load cell(20) in order to transfer tension applied to the cable(10) to the load cell(20). The chucking device grips an end of the cable(10) exposed through the cable inlet hole(20a). The chucking device includes a wedge(30) and a wedge socket(40) with tapered hole.
