PURPOSE: A composite electrode plate, its preparation method and a lead storage battery containing the electrode plate are provided, to increase the contact area with an active material, to improve the adhesive strength and to prevent the penetration of a sulfuric acid electrolyte, thereby enhancing the lifetime of a battery. CONSTITUTION: The composite electrode plate comprises an aluminium or aluminium alloy substrate(1); a lead or lead alloy sprayed layer(3) formed on the substrate; and optionally a lead or lead alloy electroplated layer(2) formed between the substrate and the lead or lead alloy sprayed layer. Preferably the lead or lead alloy sprayed layer has a thickness of 100-10,000 micrometers and the lead or lead alloy electroplated layer has a thickness of 10-1,000 micrometers. The method comprises the steps of preparing an aluminium or aluminium alloy substrate; removing the oxide layer formed on the surface of the substrate; and forming the lead or lead alloy sprayed layer on the substrate by thermal spraying. |
