PURPOSE: A device for lighting a fuel warning light for a vehicle is provided to reduce manufacturing processes and cost by lighting the fuel warning light through the position variation of a fuel indicating pointer changed by the lack of fuel by using high viscosity silicon oil, magnetic force, and a reed switch without a thermister and a delay circuit. CONSTITUTION: A device for lighting a fuel warning light for a vehicle is composed of a magnet(M) installed to a rotary ring(PL) rotating with a pointer(P) moving between F(Full) and E(Empty) indicated on a dial pad(D) to the amount of fuel in a fuel tank and a reed switch(RSW) forming magnetic field to the approximation of the magnetic. The reed switch is arranged in a position maximally approximated to the magnet when the pointer moves toward E and is installed between a fuel gauge unit processing a detected signal to the fuel amount in the fuel tank and the fuel warning light forming electric circuits.
