PURPOSE: A portable roll roughness measuring device is provided to rapidly and precisely measure roughness of a roll without disassembling the roll from equipment. CONSTITUTION: A portable roll roughness measuring device includes a pair of frames(10A,10B) having an arcuate guide groove(14) parallel to an outer surface of a roll and a thread(14a) formed along the arcuate guide groove(14). A connection rod(20) is detachably assembled with the frames(10A,10B) in order to connect the frames(10A,10B) in parallel to each other. A magnet(30) is fixed to the frames(10A,10B) in such a manner that the frames(10A,10B) are attached to the outer surface of the roll when a lever(32) rotates. A rotating shaft(40) is formed at both sides thereof with gears(42), which are engaged with the thread(14a). A moving rod(50) is provided to support the rotating shaft(40). A driving motor(80) is installed on the moving rod(50) in order to rotate the rotating shaft(40). A roughness gauge(70) is provided to measure roughness of the roll.
