PURPOSE: An emergency call setting method in case of a low battery power in a mobile communication terminal is provided to allow a mobile terminal user to make an emergency call with an emergency phone number set in an emergency power-saving mode. CONSTITUTION: A voltage of a battery pack mounted at a mobile terminal is periodically measured to check a residual charge capacity(S1). A controller of the mobile terminal discriminates whether the measured voltage drops to below a threshold value corresponding to the minimum power required for operation of the mobile terminal(S2). If the measured voltage drops to below the threshold voltage, the controller informs a user of the battery power consumption and discriminates an emergency call state according to user's selection of an emergency power-saving mode(S3). If the user does not select the emergency power-saving mode, the controller turns off the terminal to reduce power consumption of the terminal(S4). If the user selects the emergency power-saving mode, the controller turns into the emergency power-saving mode to apply power to the minimum part for a call connection with a set emergency phone number and its maintaining(S5). |
