PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display having a prop type spacer is provided to maintain a uniform cell gap over the entire area of a liquid crystal display panel. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display includes an array substrate on which pixels are arranged in a matrix form and a thin film transistor and a pixel electrode are formed at each of the pixels, a color filter substrate(10) on which a color filter(4) is formed corresponding to the pixel electrode and a black matrix is formed corresponding to the boundary of neighboring pixels, and a liquid crystal layer formed between the substrates. The array substrate and color filter substrate face each other. A prop type spacer(8) is formed in a line shape on the black matrix. The spacer is formed in the same direction as the rubbing direction and liquid crystal injecting direction. |
