PURPOSE: Sea-island type conjugate fiber having excellent section dividing property is obtained by controlling the concentration of a dulling agent. A manufacturing method thereof is capable of increasing quality and reducing production cost thereof. CONSTITUTION: Sea-island type conjugate fiber comprises an island ingredient of a thermoplastic resin and a sea ingredient of copolymerized polyester dissolved in alkali. The island ingredient and the sea ingredient contain the dulling agent having 0.03-1.0μm of mean diameter. The concentration of the dulling agent satisfies the formula(I): 2000ppm<=IM(I)-M(S)I<=30000ppm. In the formula(I), M(I) is the concentration of the dulling agent contained in the island ingredient; M(S) is the concentration of the dulling agent contained in the sea ingredient. M(I) is 15000-30000ppm. |
