METHOD FOR FABRICATING LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PURPOSE: A method for fabricating a liquid crystal display is provided to keep a gate pad from directly contacting with a developer to prevent damage on the gate pad. CONSTITUTION: A gate electrode(56) and a gate pad(74) are formed on a substrate(51). A gate insulating layer(62) is formed on the substrate. A semiconductor layer(64) is formed on the gate insulating layer. Source and drain electrodes(58,60) and a data pad(76) are formed on the gate insulating layer. An inorganic insulating material is deposited on the gate insulating layer and patterned to expose the drain electrode, a portion of the data pad and a portion of the gate insulating layer, to form an inorganic insulating layer(68). An organic insulating layer(84) is formed on the inorganic insulating layer. The exposed gate insulating layer is dry-etched to expose the gate pad. A transparent electrode pattern(72) is formed on the organic insulating layer.
