PURPOSE: A refractory brick is provided, which is installed in a refractory material to determine the remaining amount of the refractory material, thereby determining the extent of damage of the refractory material due to a hot molten material. CONSTITUTION: The refractory brick(40) comprises a structure body(40-1) comprising 80-85 wt% of MgO aggregate, 8-12 wt% of carbon, and the balance of a binder and a metal additive; and a coating layer(50) comprising SiO2 and PbO in the ratio of 1:2 to 1:2.3 as a main component, 5-7 wt% of Na2O, and 7-9 wt% of Li2O, formed on the surface of the structure body. Preferably the MgO aggregate comprises 85-90 wt% of completely molted MgO aggregate, and 10-15 wt% of sintered MgO aggregate.
