PURPOSE: An in-plane switching mode liquid crystal display is provided to improve aperture rate and a storage capacitor and increase production yield of the liquid crystal display. CONSTITUTION: An in-plane switching mode liquid crystal display includes a substrate, a plurality of gate lines(102) formed on the substrate in the first direction, a plurality of data lines(120) formed on the substrate in the second direction perpendicular to the first direction, a thin film transistor(T) formed at each of the intersections of the gate lines and data lines, and a common electrode formed at a portion having a predetermined distance from the gate lines in the first direction. The liquid crystal display further includes common lines(108,110) connected to the common electrode and located in the second direction, a plurality of pixel electrodes(130) each of which is connected to the thin film transistor, and a pixel electrode connector(126,128) for connecting the pixel electrodes and covering the gate lines in the second direction. The pixel electrodes and the common line are alternately arranged.
