PURPOSE: An apparatus for improving the brightness of a projection television is provided to increase the brightness of light belonging to a visible area and secure sufficient vertical and horizontal view angles. CONSTITUTION: A Fresnel lens(110) refracts incident light into convergent light. A lenticular lens(120) is formed of a plurality of convex unit lenses(121) connected in parallel. Protruded parts(122) are formed at parallel connecting parts of the convex unit lenses. Black stripes(122b) are formed on the front surface of the protruded parts for partly absorbing an irradiation amount of external light to increase contrast of an image formed on the front surface of the lenticular lens. A light emitting material(124), fluorescent substance, is formed on convex parts between the protruded parts for absorbing ultraviolet rays to emit the ultraviolet rays as visible light.
