APPARATUS FOR AUTOMATICALLY CORRECTING REFERENCE PIECE FOR MEASURING WIDTH OF STEEL PLATE

PURPOSE: An automatic reference piece correcting apparatus is provided to improve workability and to precisely measure width of a steel plate by directly comparing a reference piece with a contact signal probe. CONSTITUTION: A reference piece(1) for measuring width of a steel plate is placed on an insulation plate of a conveying table. Then, a magnet clamp(209) is turned on so as to fix the reference piece(1) and a plurality of standard gauge blocks(301) are installed on a gauge installing table. A computer(401) operates motors(105,203) through a motor controller and performs a feedback control by receiving position data from a position indicator. A digital indicator(102) and a contact signal probe(103) are moved to a standby position by means of a conveying rib(107). When the table conveying motor(203) is driven, a screw(203-1) is rotated so that the standard gauge block(301) is moved to the contact signal probe(103).
