PURPOSE: A voltage controlled oscillator for multi-frequency and a method for the same are provided to generate an oscillation signal having two ore more variable resonant frequencies by controlling selectively the length of an inductor to vary the inductance of an inductive load. CONSTITUTION: A voltage controlled oscillator for multi-frequency includes a negative resistance generation portion(10) and a resonance portion(20). The negative resistance generation portion generates a negative resistance. The resonance portion includes a capacitive load(22), two ore more switches(26), and an inductive load(24) in order to perform a resonant operation in response to a negative resistance by using the capacitance and the inductance. The capacitive load has the capacitance varied according to a control voltage. The inductive load is connected to the capacitive load.
