PURPOSE: A method for preparing an optical-functional hydrophilic coating glass is provided, to obtain the glass for an automobile having the improved hydrophilicity maintaining or recovering property by inducing the chemical adsorption of OH- on the surface of glass. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of coating the hydrolysis sol of titanium dioxide on the surface of glass; heating the coated glass at a temperature of 500-720 deg.C for 2 min to 1 hour; slowly cooling or rapidly cooling (reinforcement treatment) the heated glass; vacuum drying the cooled glass; and dipping the vacuum dried glass into 1N NaOH solution for 10-60 min. Preferably the coating is carried out by spraying, dip coating or spin coating method; and the vacuum drying is carried out under a pressure of 10¬-1 torr and at a temperature of 80-100 deg.C.
