PURPOSE: A display apparatus of initial screen for a washing machine and a method thereof are provided to improve convenience by selecting course and service menu easily with showing the initial screen corresponding to the course and the menu. CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer applies power to a system in inputting a power key by a user(S10). The initial screen is displayed through a display unit to the user in applying power for providing course and menu. Selection of the specific menu is decided, and the initial screen is moved or selected by using an additional key of the key input unit or a dial button(S12). The course is performed in selecting the specific menu(S13), and the menu is searched through the initial screen in not selecting the menu(S14). The washing machine is used conveniently and easily by displaying the initial screen according to the course and the menu. |
