PURPOSE: A piston seal for a disk brake is provided to keep the space between the disk and the pad plate constant by returning the piston with little restoring force in applying low hydraulic pressure to the piston and with large restoring force in applying high hydraulic pressure to the piston. CONSTITUTION: A piston seal(11) of a disk brake is installed between the inner periphery of a cylinder part(13) and the outer periphery of a piston(12) for sealing, and a V-shaped groove(15) is formed along the inner periphery of the piston seal. The piston seal is deformed for movement of the piston in applying braking pressure to the piston, and made of elastic material to return the piston in releasing braking pressure. The space between the disk and the pad plate is kept constant by returning the piston with little force in applying low pressure to the piston and with large force in applying high pressure to the piston.
