<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise at the time of driving a print head. <P>SOLUTION: The printer comprises a print head 76 in which LEDs 77R<SB>1</SB>, 77B<SB>1</SB>, 77G<SB>1</SB>and LEDs 77R<SB>2</SB>, 77B<SB>2</SB>, 77G<SB>2</SB>are arranged in two rows with the first line L1 and the second line L2 being arranged at an interval of 3 line pitch. A print medium 80 is fed by a 2 line pitch. During a process where the print head 76 moves in the main scanning direction (Xb direction), odd lines are irradiated with light by the LEDs 77R<SB>1</SB>, 77B<SB>1</SB>, 77G<SB>1</SB>in the first line L1 and, at the sametime, even lines are irradiated with light by the LEDs 77R<SB>2</SB>, 77B<SB>2</SB>, 77G<SB>2</SB>. During a process where the print head 76 finishes movement in the main scanning direction (Xb direction) and returns back to the sub-scanning direction (Xa direction), the print medium 80 is fed by 2 line pitch (2P) in the forward feeding direction (Y direction). Since the moving speed of the print head 76 is one half of conventional speed V, low noise structure is realized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
