SILICA WITH LOW SILANOL GROUP CONTENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sililated silica having <0.6 SiOH density per 1 nm2with respect to the surface area by the BET method (according to DIN66131 and 66132).

SOLUTION: The processes of (1) coating the hydrophilic silica with a sililating agent, (2) reacting the hydrophilic silica and the sililating agent and (3) refining the hydrophilic silica from the sililating agent and reaction byproducts are carried out in respective exclusive containers.
