PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cardboard shock absorbing material of which structure is simple, which can be easily assembled and has a superior shape holding characteristic. SOLUTION: An L-shaped receiving wall 1, an abutting wall 2 and a side receiving wall 3 raised from the receiving wall 1 are formed by enclosing an outer surface plate 4, a top plate 5, an inner surface plate 6 and an enclosing plate 7, respectively. A holding plate 10 extending out of the outer surface plate 4 of the side receiving wall 3 is applied along the outer surface plate 4 and then the extremity end is engaged with the abutting wall 2 to hold its shape. The receiving wall 1, the abutting wall 2 and the side receiving wall 3 are enclosed to form a cylindrical shape and can be easily assembled. An angle of the side receiving wall 3 is restricted by a ridge between the outer surface plate 4 of the side receiving wall 3 and the holding plate 10 and its shape is positively held.
