PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging material with a cushioning packaging function prepared by using a plastic foam sheet prepared by laminating a cap sheet provided with a number of caps by vacuum molding of a plastic sheet and a flat back sheet to form a number of enclosed air rooms as a material and which is simply manufactured and is easily recovered after use. SOLUTION: Under a condition where the rectangular plastic foam sheet is laid sideways, a short parallel notch and a long parallel notch being parallel to both upper and lower sides are respectively provided from corresponding position at the middle parts of both left and right end sides to make the upper part and the lower part respectively a horizontal member and a longitudinal member. An oblique notch is formed from an end of the long parallel notch in such a way that a line connecting the end of the oblique notch with an end of the short parallel notch intersects the oblique notch approximately at right angles and folding is performed by making this line as an outer folding line and a line connecting ends of both parallel notches as an inner folding line and the horizontal member and the longitudinal member are respectively piled up approximately at their central parts to form a cross-shaped packaging material.
