PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer a plate work in a horizontal posture as much as possible by simple constitution i.e., without using power and a controller. SOLUTION: In this transfer device for the plate work 1 comprising a pair of forks 2 inserted into a reverse face of the plate work 1 to move the plate work 1 while supporting it from the reverse face and to make the plate work 1 fall down in an assigned position as it is in the substantially horizontal posture, a support arm 7 for approaching or separating the respective forks 2 each other, and a robot arm 18 for moving integrally the forks 2 and the support arm 7, the each fork 2 is constituted of a large number of comb teeth 3, a crawler belt 8 circulated along an extended direction of the comb tooth 3 is provided in the each comb tooth 3, and the crawler belt 8 is brought into contact with the reverse face of the plate work 1 to be supported.
