PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel handling tool capable of handling a very lightweight and very brittle experimental sample such as aerogel easily without damaging it. SOLUTION: This handling tool 1 for handling the very lightweight and very brittle experimental sample G by sucking it has an outer cylinder 2 of which the both ends are opened and an inner cylinder 3 reciprocating inside the outer cylinder 2, a flange part 4 for the suction is provided in one end part of the outer cylinder 2, and a spring member 6 for energizing the inner cylinder 3 to an extracting direction is provided in the other end part of the outer cylinder 2. Even the very lightweight and very brittle experimental sample such as the aerogel G is thereby handled without damaging it. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
