PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin absorbent article which can speedily absorb a liquid given locally. SOLUTION: A vaginal discharge absorbent sheet 10 which is the thin absorbent article has a topsheet 24 and an intermediate sheet 23 formed of a hydrophilic air-through nonwoven fabric. A large number of liquid passage holes 31 penetrating from the topsheet 24 to the intermediate sheet 23 are formed. A discharged liquid is absorbed by a liquid absorbing layer 22 while being diffused by the intermediate sheet 23 through the liquid passage holes 31. Thus, though the entire of the article has thin-thickness, the article can speedily absorb the liquid given locally. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
