A spreader, connected to the rear end of a combine harvester, is disclosed for spreading the crop residues existing from a cutter incorporated in the combine harvester behind the spreader across a width that considerably exceeds the width of the combine harvester and the spreader. The spreader includes several spreader wigs pivotally mounted thereon to define the desired spreading width. A wind deflector is mounted on said spreader and upon movement of the spreader in the direction of travel it prevents headwinds and/or lateral winds from affecting the distribution of the crop residues across the spreading width. |
